Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has received an official invitation from Russian President Vladimir Putin to attend the celebrations commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory over Nazism, scheduled for next May.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the invitation was conveyed by Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tsivlev during his meeting with Prime Minister al-Sudani on Wednesday. The meeting also focused on discussions about potential areas of joint cooperation, particularly in the energy and oil sectors.
