Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani chaired a meeting of the Supreme Committee for Restructuring Public Companies today, Sunday. The meeting focused on maximizing non-oil revenues, reforming public companies, reviewing administrative and financial reform decisions, and adopting sound economic principles to enhance state treasury resources and improve employee benefits in public companies.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting approved several recommendations from the Subcommittee on Supervising the Company Classification Process. These included the establishment of the General Company for Reconstruction, Equipment, and Scientific Investments. Additionally, the reclassification of concerned companies was approved to align with administrative reforms.
The meeting also reviewed recommendations from the World Investor Day Conference and approved a general economic policy paper. Furthermore, the committee agreed on the disbursement of fuel quantities, as outlined in the subcommittee’s recommendations. These efforts aim to support economic growth and strengthen the management of public companies in Iraq.
