Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani has ordered an investigation into the content of a virtual video in which he appeared with the late great Arab poet Mohammed Mahdi Al-Jawahiri. A statement by the Prime Minister’s office indicated that Al-Sudani expressed his rejection of the virtual video’s content, which he felt contradicted the Prime Minister’s respect and appreciation for Al-Jawahiri’s literary and national stature.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Sudani directed the Media and Communications Commission to conduct an urgent investigation into the parties responsible for producing, promoting, or publishing this advertisement. The investigation focuses on the offensive content towards cultural figures and government institutions and the irresponsible use of artificial intelligence technologies that violate professional and media standards.

The Prime Minister reserves his legal right to prosecute the party responsible for producing the video that insults Iraq and its national symbols.
