Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani chaired a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Iraq Development Fund on Monday, focusing on significant development projects and financial strategies.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, discussions centered around the (Edopa) school construction project, marking the launch of its first phase. The meeting reviewed a report from the Ministry of Finance, which detailed payment mechanisms and financing guarantees. Al-Sudani instructed the Board to conduct a joint meeting with relevant parties to conclude financial and technical discussions effectively.

The meeting further addressed the establishment of two companies, Development Road and Al-Suwaidi Electric, granting them initial approval. This approval is contingent upon the completion of necessary procedures and a subsequent presentation to the Board of Directors. Additionally, a report concerning the governance of sectoral holding companies and special purpose vehicles connected to the Fund was discussed, alongside a review of the needs of the consulting firm collaborating with the Fund.
