BAGHDAD: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has commended the nation’s security forces following the successful elimination of the so-called “Wali of Iraq” of ISIS and eight senior leaders of the organization.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Sudani expressed his congratulations to the Iraqi people for the operation’s success. The mission, described as a “heroic qualitative operation,” was executed by the Counter-Terrorism Service and the Iraqi National Security Service under the supervision of joint operations. This operation targeted the terrorist hideouts located in the Hamrin Mountains.

Al-Sudani further emphasized the government’s unwavering support for the security forces, asserting that Iraq would continue to pursue and eliminate terrorists from its territory. He reiterated the commitment to cleanse Iraq of the presence and actions of ISIS militants.
