Al-Sudani Promotes Integration of Young Entrepreneurs’ Ideas in Major Iraqi Projects

Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has directed the integration of young entrepreneurs’ ideas into major projects implemented throughout Iraq. A statement from the Prime Minister’s media office highlighted a meeting on Sunday where al-Sudani engaged with young participants from the Riyada Initiative Conference and Exhibition, hailing from Baghdad and various governorates. These entrepreneurs presented ideas, some of which had already been transformed into projects, while others were in the process of development through the initiative. The Prime Minister’s Advisor for Riyada Initiative Affairs was also in attendance.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the government recognizes the Riyada Initiative as an essential project for future preservation and development. It is viewed as a crucial strategy to combat unemployment in Iraq by creating job opportunities through transforming young people’s innovative ideas into tangible projects, supported by necessary assistance.

Al-Sudani instructed initiative officials to collaborate with ministries and institutions to establish mechanisms that link large companies operating in Iraq with small companies founded by young entrepreneurs in similar sectors. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of utilizing the ideas of Riyada youth in major projects across Baghdad and other governorates, such as the revitalization of historic Baghdad and the development of residential cities and commercial districts.

In a further effort to support young entrepreneurs, al-Sudani directed government agencies to assist in the registration of their companies with the Iraqi company registry. He also aimed to simplify procedures for these entrepreneurs to obtain loans from governmental and private banks, thereby encouraging and facilitating the realization of their business ideas.
