Mosul: Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani reaffirmed the government’s determination to continue implementing its service-oriented programs and developmental and economic projects, following the same approach he adopted during previous visits to Nineveh and other Iraqi provinces.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Sudani met on Wednesday with a group of tribal leaders and dignitaries from the Shammar tribe and other components of Nineveh Province at the guesthouse of MP Abdul Rahim Al-Shammari in Mosul. During the meeting, the Prime Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to advancing the province’s economic, agricultural, and industrial sectors, underlining Nineveh’s strategic role in Iraq’s food security. He also highlighted ongoing efforts to support the use of modern technology and scientific methods to develop the agricultural sector.

Al-Sudani affirmed the government’s dedication to disbursing farmers’ dues, as part of broader efforts to encourage non-oil economic growth and create more job opportunities in vital development sectors. He called on farmers to diversify crop production in line with growing local market demand, rather than focusing solely on strategic crops. He noted that the government has approved wide-ranging facilitations and core measures to support their efforts.

For their part, the tribal leaders and dignitaries welcomed the Prime Minister’s visit to Mosul and praised his continued interest in the city and the wider Nineveh Province. They lauded the government’s efforts in reconstruction, infrastructure development, and erasing the remnants of ISIS, noting that the province is currently experiencing a significant transformation across various sectors.
