Kut: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani has mandated the completion of the long-stalled Wasit Hospital project within a year, underscoring its critical role in enhancing healthcare services in the Wasit Governorate. According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Sudani made a field visit to the Wasit Hospital project, also known as the Turkish Hospital, which has a planned capacity of 400 beds. During his visit, he assessed the current progress and directed that any obstacles to the project's completion be addressed promptly. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of bringing the hospital into operation to serve the medical needs of the local population. The Wasit Hospital project, located in the city of Kut, has been stalled since 2011. It is part of a broader governmental initiative to revitalize halted infrastructure projects across the country. Currently, the hospital's construction is 45% complete. The facility is designed as a medical city, comprising three buildings that will house consulting clinics, laboratories, radiology units, CT and MRI scanning services, along with other specialized medical and service departments.
