Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani emphasized the crucial role of restructuring the Iraqi economy, highlighting the private sector as a key partner and supporter in realizing this vision.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, during the celebration of Partnership Day between the International Finance Corporation and the Iraqi government, Al-Sudani stated, “We have prepared to advance the Iraqi economic reality in the next phase. We have prepared a package of laws to support the private sector. These laws were approved by the Council of Ministers and are now in the House of Representatives awaiting legislation. There are local and foreign investments under negotiation.”
He further remarked on the private sector’s significant contribution across various fields, noting that government measures to support the sector have successfully attracted numerous international companies. Al-Sudani revealed that the investment volume has reached $100 billion over the past two years, underscoring the sector’
s growing impact on the economy.
