Erbil: Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Masrour Barzani announced today, Sunday, that Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani will visit the region tomorrow, Monday. He indicated that one of the Kurdistan Democratic Party’s (KDP) conditions regarding the formation of the next Iraqi government is understanding its political agenda.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Barzani explained that the KDP demonstrated its strength after the parliamentary elections, not only within the region but also in Iraq as a whole. He emphasized the natural process for any party to contact the KDP and request cooperation in forming alliances and coalitions to establish the next government.

Barzani clarified that the party, as a participant in the current and future government, requires access to the new government’s program to understand how it intends to implement the important constitutional articles for Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. Sudani’s visit will include attending a special event for the MEPs conference at the American University of Duhok.

Barzani noted that the meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss several important issues, including the election results, the upcoming government’s projects, the political forces’ perspectives on the current situation, and the issue of salaries and rights in the Kurdistan Region, which is considered a fundamental issue that must be addressed.
