Baghdad: Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani met today, Sunday, with the British Ambassador to Iraq, Irfan Siddiq, to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations within the framework of the Strategic Cooperation Agreement signed between the two countries.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Prime Minister’s media office indicated that Prime Minister Al-Sudani received Ambassador Irfan Siddiq in Baghdad. The discussions focused on bilateral relations and opportunities for development across various sectors, all within the Strategic Cooperation Agreement framework established during the Prime Minister’s visit to London earlier this year.

The statement further detailed that the meeting also covered recent regional developments and underscored the importance of continued joint coordination, given current challenges. Both leaders emphasized the necessity of enhancing regional and international efforts to halt ongoing aggression in the Gaza Strip. They highlighted the need to facilitate humanitarian aid delivery to Gaza’s besieged population and support initiatives aimed at achieving security and stability in the region.
