Al-Waeli Announces Revenue Surge of 560 Billion Dinars in July

Baghdad: The head of the Border Ports Authority, Omar al-Waeli, has announced a notable increase in revenues, achieving a total of 560 billion dinars for the month of July. This surge has contributed to a cumulative total of over 2.5 trillion dinars over the past seven months.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Waeli attributed this financial upturn to the implementation of a centralized electronic network and auditing system. This system played a pivotal role in uncovering numerous violations and manipulations concerning goods descriptions, effectively thwarting attempts to misuse public funds across several ports. Al-Waeli underscored that the move towards automation is crucial both as a sovereign measure and an economic imperative, aiming to safeguard public resources and ensure societal safety.
