Al-Zaidi Asserts Full National Control Over Security Decisions

Baghdad:According to the National Iraqi News Agency, Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ali Falih Al-Zaidi declared that the country’s security and military decision-making is now completely under national jurisdiction. This responsibility is managed entirely by Iraq’s official state institutions.

Al-Zaidi made these comments during an extraordinary meeting of the Ministerial Council for National Security. He emphasized the necessity of maintaining high levels of vigilance and readiness while improving coordination and cooperation among all military and security bodies.

The Prime Minister also stressed the role of the Military Industrialization Authority in augmenting Iraq’s defense capabilities. He called for forming productive partnerships with international companies that specialize in weapons and military equipment manufacturing, which he believes will bolster Iraq€š¬…¡¬€š¬…¾¢s domestic defense industry.

Al-Zaidi further mentioned that the government is actively pursuing regional and international partnerships grounded in cooperation and mutual interests. This approach aims to serve Iraq’s national interests without aligning with competing international blocs.

Additionally, Sabah Al-Numan, the spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, stated that the meeting reviewed arrangements and plans to enhance the capabilities of military institutions, ensure security and stability, and strengthen the authority of the law and the state.
