Paris: The French Presidency, the ‚¬°lys©e Palace, has outlined the key issues that will be discussed between Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi and French President Emmanuel Macron during al-Zaidi’s upcoming visit to Paris. This visit marks al-Zaidi’s first trip to Europe, aiming to strengthen the partnership between France and Iraq.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the French Presidency announced that the discussions will focus on cooperation in priority sectors such as energy, transportation, infrastructure, water, and health. Both leaders are also expected to enhance collaboration in the fields of security and defense, with contracts anticipated to be signed, though specific details have yet to be disclosed.

The statement elaborated on the ongoing international coalition mission against ISIS, with both leaders set to reaffirm their shared determination to combat terrorism and prevent ISIS from regaining strength. This commitment will be pursued while respecting the sovereignty of each nation involved.

Additionally, Macron and al-Zaidi will address the effects of regional instability on trade and energy supplies, specifically concerning Iraqi oil exports. Efforts will be made to resume these exports to alleviate pressure on energy markets, bolster the economy, and sustainably protect the purchasing power of the French populace.
