Baghdad: Al-Zawraa Iraqi football club secured an important 2-1 victory over India’s Goa FC on home ground in a match held as part of the AFC Asia 2 Clubs Championship. Al-Zawraa opened the scoring through Kazem Raad in the 38th minute, before Goa equalized after Dhurgham Ismail accidentally scored an own goal in the 51st minute. Hassan Abdul Kareem restored the lead for the hosts by netting the second goal in the 55th minute.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, with this win, Al-Zawraa raised their tally to 9 points, moving into second place in their group.
