Luay Al-Ani set the tone by opening the scoring in the 15th minute, capitalizing on a penalty rebound. The advantage was extended by Mohammed Qasim in the 41st minute. As the first half drew to a close, Hiran Ahmed added a third goal in stoppage time. Youssef Aziz sealed the dominant win with a fourth goal in the 70th minute.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Zawraa’s victory propels them to second place in the league standings with 5 points, while Naft Maysan lingers in 16th place with 2 points. In contrast, Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya continues to struggle after drawing 1-1 with Ghaz Al-Shamal. Despite taking an early lead in the 33rd minute through Redha Fadel at Al-Karkh Stadium, Ghaz Al-Shamal couldn’t maintain their advantage.
Mohammed Jawad of Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya missed a crucial penalty just before halftime. However, the team capitalized on a red card shown to Ghaz Al-Shamal’s Abdul Rahman Mohammed, allowing Saad Abdul Amir to equalize in the 84th minute. The draw leaves Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya with 3 points from three consecutive draws, placing them in twelfth position. Meanwhile, Ghaz Al-Shamal holds 2 points, securing the fifteenth spot.
