Al-Zaydi Commits to Strengthening Iraqi Army’s Professionalism

Baghdad: Al-Zaydi affirms that the government is giving great attention to developing the Iraqi army, so that it becomes a strong, professional army whose fundamental doctrine is protecting Iraq and its people.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ali Faleh al-Zaidi, emphasized the government's commitment to transforming the Iraqi army into a formidable and professional force. This transformation is aimed at ensuring that the army's primary mission remains the protection of Iraq and its citizens. Al-Zaidi assured that all necessary resources would be provided to enhance the military's capabilities, underscoring the importance of a strong army in preserving the nation's pride and dignity.

In a statement from his media office, it was revealed that Prime Minister al-Zaidi paid a visit to the Ministry of Defense, where he was received by the Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah. During his visit, al-Zaidi chaired a meeting with several military commanders and senior officers. He was briefed on the ministry's strategic plans and the current security situation within military units, tailored to their specific duties and specializations.

During the meeting, al-Zaidi approved the promotions list for military officers, reaffirming his commitment to ensuring that these officers receive their rightful promotions. He praised the dedication and efforts of all officers and personnel, recognizing them as the nation's shield and support. Al-Zaidi also reiterated that no weapons will be tolerated outside the legal and state framework, emphasizing the ongoing fight against corruption, the establishment of a law-abiding state, and ensuring security and stability for all citizens.
