Baghdad: Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ali Faleh al-Zaidi, has ordered the formation of an investigative committee regarding the Maysan Operations Command. This decision comes amidst concerns over recent security developments in the region.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement by the spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Sabah al-Nu’man, confirmed that al-Zaidi ordered the dismissal of the operations commander from his post. This action followed confirmation that attacks targeting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia had originated from a location within the Maysan province.
