Baghdad: The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ali Faleh al-Zaidi, has reiterated the government’s dedication to enhancing and developing the nation’s security institutions. This affirmation was made during a ceremony on Saturday, marking the graduation of the 56th Higher Officers’ Course, also known as the Lions of Mesopotamia Course, and the 31st course for students of the Higher Institute for Security and Administrative Development.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister’s Media Office announced that Ali Faleh al-Zaidi, who also serves as the Prime Minister, sponsored the event. During his address to the graduates and their families, al-Zaidi highlighted the significance of their new roles in the security and military establishment. He emphasized their contribution to supporting the state’s constitutional and legal institutions at a critical time for Iraq.

Al-Zaidi underscored the importance of the graduates joining the service at a pivotal juncture for Iraq, stressing their essential role in reinforcing sovereignty, combating corruption, and promoting civil and social peace. He declared, “We will not allow Iraq to become an arena for others’ conflicts or a launching pad for aggression against our neighbors,” emphasizing the unity of the Iraqi people in safeguarding national security.

He further noted that the graduates’ roles would bolster confidence in Iraq’s political system and its capacity to face crises. Highlighting the importance of awareness, knowledge, and advanced technology, al-Zaidi stated these elements would enhance Iraq’s ability to confront threats and maintain national security.

Al-Zaidi reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening the state’s authority, reforming the economy, and combating corruption. He affirmed that the security forces’ strength would deter any attempts to undermine Iraq’s security. By protecting citizens’ rights and providing constitutional guarantees, the government aims to achieve its goals of bolstering security institutions.
