Baghdad: Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi received an invitation from President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to visit the Arab Republic of Egypt. A statement from his media office indicated that al-Zaidi received the Egyptian President’s envoy, the head of the Egyptian General Intelligence Directorate, Hassan Mahmoud Rashad, who delivered a message from President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. In the message, President al-Sisi praised the depth of the strategic relations between the two countries and his continued readiness to support efforts to achieve the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples in all fields.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the message included an invitation to the Prime Minister to visit the Arab Republic of Egypt, stemming from the shared desire to further strengthen cooperation between Iraq and Egypt, preserve the interests of both countries, and bolster regional and international peace and stability.

The statement added that the meeting also addressed a number of issues and files of mutual interest, emphasizing the importance of coordinating positions and exchanging information and expertise to enhance bilateral interests and serve the best interests of the two brotherly peoples and their shared benefit.
