Algeria Expels Moroccan Vice-Consul Amid Diplomatic Tensions

Algiers: Algeria announced the expulsion of the Moroccan Vice-Consul and ordered him to leave the country within 48 hours. The Algerian Foreign Ministry stated in a statement that the acting manager of the Moroccan consulate, Khalid Al-Shihani, was summoned and officially informed of the decision.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Algeria declared the Moroccan vice-consul general in Oran, Mohamed Al-Sufyani, “persona non grata” due to actions it described as “suspicious” and “illegal.” The official statement confirmed that the decision came in response to violations of local laws and international conventions, especially the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations.
