Alia Nassif praises making the task of negotiating with America entrusted to security leaders, not government

MP Alia Nassif expressed her hope that the Iraqi security negotiating delegation would make the relationship between Iraq and the United States of America based on parity to serve the Iraqi national interest and not a relationship between a subordinate and a subordinate, praising the role of the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces in making the negotiation task entrusted to Security leaders, not government officials.

Nassif confirmed, in a press statement, that “the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, has chosen security leaders to negotiate with the American side about the presence in Iraq and put aside government representatives, after their failure to define the relationship between the two countries is a point calculated for Al-Kadhimi, this file is within the jurisdiction of the military and security leaders, , which is more knowledgeable in its details and merits, and has the ability to take decisions that preserve Iraq’s sovereignty.”

She added, “we hope that the negotiating security leaders will be up to the responsibility that has been entrusted to them, and that they will be more self-taught in determining the nature of this relationship, especially since the security reality casts a shadow over all other important files such as political, economic and others, so what is required of them today is to make this relationship serve the interest.” Iraqi nationalism is not a relationship between a follower and a follower.”

She said, “Our eyes and the eyes of the people are waiting for you to bring us a historic achievement that will delight the hearts of all Iraqis
