Baghdad: The head of the National Coalition, Iyad Allawi, called on Friday, the Iraqi people and the security forces to participate widely in the upcoming elections, stressing that the current stage requires a nationally responsible position that puts the interests of Iraq above all considerations.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Allawi stated that “the voice of the citizen represents trust and responsibility, which is the true way to build a state of justice and equality, and to choose who works honestly for the sake of the nation and the citizen,” noting that “Iraq needs those who carry all the people honestly and put the interest of the nation first, away from personal interests and slogans.”
He added that “the choice of the National Coalition to ally with the Reconstruction and Development Coalition came from the necessity of unifying national efforts in order to build a civil state based on citizenship and equal opportunities,” affirming that “the list of the Reconstruction and Development Coalition represents a real national choice for everyone who believes in reform and construction.”
Allawi called on the people to “give trust to the list of the reconstruction and development coalition and support them in the polls to be the voice of the citizen and a tool for construction and reconstruction.”
Finally, he said: “Iraq is first, Iraq is above all, and we believe in it and work for it without delay.”
