Amedi Supports Private Sector’s Role in Strategic Projects


Amedi: President of the Republic Nizar Amedi affirmed today, Thursday, support for efforts to empower the private sector to play a greater role in implementing strategic projects. In his speech at the Sulaymaniyah Economic Summit 2026, he emphasized the importance of collaboration among government institutions, civil society, and independent organizations to formulate and implement economic policies beneficial for a growing economy.



According to Iraqi News Agency, President Amedi highlighted the significance of partnerships in policy proposals and solution development, particularly amid regional challenges. He advocated for joint efforts to address security issues, ensuring they do not adversely affect the national economy and citizens’ lives. He expressed support for initiatives enabling the private sector to contribute significantly to strategic projects, infrastructure development, and job creation while maintaining transparency and protecting public resources.



Amedi underscored the need for an integrated role between the state and the private sector to foster investment, innovation, and economic diversification. He noted that political and security stability is incomplete without economic and social stability, advocating for regional stability and dialogue to safeguard national sovereignty. He called for a long-term vision integrating state institutions, resource management, and economic diversification to encourage investment and digital transformation.



The President highlighted the gradual transition toward a diverse and investment-friendly economy through reforms in financial and economic sectors, infrastructure development, and youth empowerment. He emphasized the importance of eradicating corruption from these sectors to restore public life vitality and create a safe investment environment. Amedi affirmed the Presidency’s commitment to fostering economic cooperation and coordination between federal and Kurdistan authorities, preserving state unity and national interests.
