Baghdad: President Nizar Amidi and Nouri al-Maliki, head of the State of Law Coalition, have highlighted the critical role of national unity in consolidating political stability and advancing Iraq’s democratic process. In a meeting held at Baghdad Palace, the leaders discussed various pressing issues, including both internal and regional developments impacting the country.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement released by the Parliament’s Media Office detailed the discussions between Amidi and al-Maliki. The meeting focused on the current state of affairs in Iraq, with both leaders emphasizing the importance of cooperation and coordination among political forces. This cooperation is seen as essential for achieving political stability and supporting the democratic process in Iraq.

The leaders also underscored the necessity of backing the government in its efforts to implement its ministerial program. This program aims to fulfill the aspirations of Iraqi citizens, enhance the functioning of state institutions, and promote development and stability across the nation.
