Ammar al-Hakim Advocates for National Cohesion and Weapons Control


Baghdad: During a meeting with members of the National State Forces Alliance, Ammar al-Hakim, the head of the alliance, called for addressing the issue of weapons held outside state control and strengthening national cohesion.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Hakim emphasized the importance of coordinating positions between legislative and executive blocs and maintaining ongoing communication. He highlighted the consistent payment of salaries and dues to farmers and contractors as a significant achievement amid difficult financial circumstances.



Al-Hakim noted the finalization of the “program-based budget” as crucial for identifying priority issues. He described the conclusion of the International Coalition’s mission, achieved through mutual understanding, as a signal of Iraq’s recovery and international acknowledgment. He urged a transition to bilateral relations between Iraq and Coalition nations to serve mutual interests while preserving national sovereignty.



He stressed the need for continued improvement in the security situation and preparedness for challenges. Al-Hakim also underscored the importance of embracing all social components, reinforcing national partnership, and completing the process of addressing weapons outside the state framework according to agreed schedules.



Furthermore, al-Hakim highlighted the necessity of informing the public about the services provided and achievements realized, urging members of the National State Forces Alliance to meet citizens’ expectations and aspirations while championing the political system’s achievements over the past two decades.
