Anbar: Anbar Governorate announced on Wednesday the upcoming release of a new map of the province’s tourist sites. The map features 10 locations across the cities of Fallujah, Ramadi, Habbaniyah, Hit, Al-Baghdadi, Haditha, Anah, Rawa, and Al-Rummanah.

According to Iraqi News Agency, Moayad Al-Dulaimi, the media spokesperson for the Anbar local government, stated that a new tourism map for the governorate, featuring 10 tourist sites, will be announced soon. He mentioned that these projects are part of a strategic plan to develop the tourism sector and capitalize on Anbar’s tourism and archaeological assets. The plans have been finalized, and the tourism map has been updated in coordination with the relevant authorities.

Al-Dulaimi highlighted that the map includes sites in the cities of Fallujah, Ramadi, Habbaniyah, Hit, Al-Baghdadi, Haditha, Anah, Rawa, and Al-Rummanah. Several ongoing projects aim to revive heritage and promote archaeological and historical tourism. The projects include the development of Hashimiyat Anbar, the Hit Citadel, and various archaeological sites in Anah, as well as the restoration of the traditional waterwheels in Hit and Haditha.

He further noted that the governorate has completed amusement parks and green spaces for recreational use, along with the construction of several corniche areas. Future plans include additional recreational projects, including two projects to establish tourist marinas along a 12-kilometer stretch from the Al-Jazira Regulator to the Al-Bu’aitha Regulator. This is alongside the development of the Ramadi Corniche and the creation of recreational areas extending to 120th Street, all part of the 2027 plan.

Al-Dulaimi mentioned plans for several projects in Al-Baghdadi and at the Al-Taqsim Regulator on Lake Tharthar, areas suitable for camping and scouting tourism due to their scenery and geographical features. The location is a significant tourist destination, with fresh water forming waterfalls. Lake Anah will also be included in tourism development plans, enhancing Anbar’s status as a key destination for tourism and archaeological interest.
