Ankara: Turkey called on all parties to exercise restraint following the US attacks on Venezuela to ensure the current situation does not have negative consequences for regional and international security, stressing that it is closely monitoring the latest developments in Venezuela.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Turkish Foreign Ministry issued a statement emphasizing the importance of stability in Venezuela and the safety and well-being of its people. The ministry urged all parties involved to maintain restraint to prevent adverse impacts on both regional and international security.
The statement highlighted Turkey’s readiness to provide constructive contributions to resolving the Venezuelan crisis within the framework of international law. It also mentioned that the Turkish Embassy in Caracas is maintaining continuous communication and coordination with Turkish citizens in Venezuela.
The events in Venezuela escalated earlier that morning, with explosions reported in Caracas and other cities, accompanied by low-flying warplanes. US media sources revealed that President Donald Trump had authorized strikes targeting Venezuelan military installations.
Subsequently, President Trump announced a large-scale operation in Venezuela, which led to the capture and removal of President Nicol¡s Maduro and his wife from the country.
