Damascus: The Arab League condemned yesterday, the Israeli airstrikes on targets near the presidential palace in the Syrian capital, Damascus. According to Nam News Network, the pan-Arab organisation stated that these airstrikes represent a dangerous escalation and a condemned violation of Syria's sovereignty. The Arab League emphasized that such actions aim to destabilize the situation, interfere in internal affairs, and encroach on Syrian territory. In a joint statement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Israel Katz confirmed that Israel conducted the overnight attack near the presidential palace in Damascus. The strike followed deadly clashes that intensified earlier this week between local Druze fighters and pro-government forces south of Damascus, which, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, have resulted in over 100 fatalities. The Israeli statement characterized the strike as a clear message to the Syrian government, asserting that Israel will not permit the movement of forces south of Damascus or any threat to the Druze community.
