Cairo: The Arab League has issued a strong condemnation of the Israeli military raids on the Gaza Strip, labeling them as brutal actions that have resulted in hundreds of deaths and injuries, predominantly affecting women and children. The Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, characterized the resumption of these military operations as “an inhumane act and a blatant challenge to the international will that supported the ceasefire.”
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Aboul Gheit, speaking through his official Spokesman, Gamal Rushdi, emphasized that the leaders of the Israeli occupation are embroiled in an internal conflict at the expense of the blood of children and women in Gaza. He highlighted the danger posed to Israeli hostages in the Strip and criticized the disregard for the ceasefire agreement that was supposed to progress to its second phase.
Aboul Gheit called for the international community to vocally oppose what he described as a massacre targeting a besieged population deprived of medical and humanitarian aid. He referred to the ongoing actions as an unprecedented campaign of starvation, systematic killing, and ethnic cleansing.
Furthermore, he urged the international community to exert pressure on Israel to immediately cease military operations and return to ceasefire negotiations. The aim, he stressed, should be to reach a comprehensive agreement that ensures a prisoner exchange and definitively ends the war.
The Israeli forces resumed their offensive on the Gaza Strip yesterday evening. The Gaza Health Ministry reported that 326 individuals have been killed in Gaza hospitals so far as a result of Israeli attacks since dawn today.
