Baghdad: The Arab League emphasized the significance of convening the 34th session of the Arab Summit in Baghdad, scheduled for next Saturday.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Ahmed Rashid Al-Khattabi, the Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Media and Communication Sector at the Arab League, conveyed in a statement that the summit in Iraq represents a crucial opportunity for joint Arab action. He highlighted Iraq’s pivotal role in fostering solidarity and coordination among member states under the Arab League’s auspices. This summit aims to address current regional challenges with seriousness and responsibility.
Al-Khattabi further elaborated that the exceptional circumstances faced by the Arab world, including developments in the Palestinian issue and strategic visions for development challenges, underscore the summit’s importance. The outcomes of the Baghdad session are anticipated to provide constructive approaches to these pressing issues.
In addition to the political summit, a parallel development summit, the fifth of its kind, will also take place on the same day. This event will focus on sustainable development and Arab food security, along with projects aimed at enhancing Arab capabilities. Al-Khattabi emphasized that development is vital for the Arab region’s progress and its role on the international stage.
