Baghdad: Security forces in Baghdad have apprehended 16 suspects, including members of a theft gang and an individual impersonating an official, in operations carried out across the Karkh and Rusafa districts. The arrests were made by the Baghdad Operations Command, which deployed Federal Police divisions to set up temporary checkpoints in strategic locations. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the arrests were conducted by the first, second, fifth, and mechanized divisions of the Federal Police through a series of coordinated security practices. The operations targeted several neighborhoods, including Al-Sha'la, Yarmouk, Al-Alawiya, Al-Karrada, Al-Nahrawan, Al-Baladiyat, Al-Hamidiya, Kamira, Al-Amari, Al-Kufa neighborhood, Al-Amel neighborhood, and Al-Jihad neighborhood. The suspects were apprehended under various legal articles. Among them were two individuals identified as part of a theft gang, one person impersonating an official position, and another involved in kidnapping crimes. The suspects, a long with seized items, have been handed over to the relevant authorities for further legal action.
