Arrest of a Currency Counterfeiting Gang in Babylon


Babylon: The Anti-Organized Crime Forces in Babylon have successfully apprehended a gang involved in currency counterfeiting in the western Hamza district, located south of Hillah, the provincial capital.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Director of the Anti-Organized Crime Office, Colonel Yasser Witwit, detailed that the operation led to the arrest of four individuals. These arrests were made during a targeted raid on a house in the district, which was conducted based on intelligence information.



Colonel Witwit further explained that the gang was engaged in printing and counterfeiting 25,000-dinar banknotes. Following their arrest, the gang members were handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation, and the items seized during the raid were confiscated.
