Baghdad: The Cinema and Theater Forum of the Basra branch of the Iraqi Writers Union hosted a cultural seminar this Wednesday evening titled “Art and Literature in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: A Conflict Between Human Creativity and the Genius of Algorithms.” The seminar featured a lecture by Dr. Haider Ali Al-Asadi and was attended by a select group of Basra’s intellectuals and writers.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the session was moderated by Dr. Nasser Hashem Badan, who began by providing a brief biography of the lecturer, highlighting his academic and literary work, prominent publications, research, studies, and the Arab awards he has received. Dr. Al-Asadi then discussed the rapid development of artificial intelligence technologies and the Fourth Industrial Revolution, whose presence in the creative world has become increasingly dominant in recent times.

The session included interventions from several attendees, which were addressed by the lecturer. At the end of the session, Dr. Al-Asadi was honored by the Basra branch of the Iraqi Writers Union.
