Babylon:The 13th edition of the Babylon Festival for World Cultures and Arts commenced under the theme “We Are All Babylonians,” featuring an array of writers, artists, and intellectuals from Iraq as well as international participants from Arab and foreign nations. The event was graced by the presence of Acting Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities, Sarwa Abdul-Wahid, along with Babylon Governor Ali Turki and various diplomatic and cultural dignitaries.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the festival, which continues until October 16, encompasses a variety of cultural activities including theatrical performances, concerts, poetry evenings, art exhibitions, and intellectual seminars.
Babylon Governor Ali Turki Al-Jamali highlighted the political representation at the festival, mentioning the attendance of the Ambassador of Palestine and ambassadors from countries such as Switzerland and Germany. He emphasized the festival’s role in promoting a culture of literature and tolerance, while also celebrating Iraq’s unique heritage. Furthermore, the local government in Babylon has facilitated transportation to and from the festival venue.
