Baghdad:The Presidency of the Baghdad/Al-Karkh Court of Appeal has approached the House of Representatives to seek approval for initiating legal proceedings against MP Zahraa Luqman Haneen Al-Saadi.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the request is based on Article 289, in conjunction with Article 298, of the Penal Code No. 11 of 1969, as amended. The court seeks a determination on whether to lift Al-Saadi’s parliamentary immunity in line with Article 63 of the Constitution.
The Central Anti-Corruption Criminal Court has confirmed it is investigating the case involving MP Zahraa Luqman Haneen Al-Saadi.
