New York:Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi has confirmed the government’s intention to organize the Baghdad Energy Conference, which will feature the announcement of new exploration blocks in Iraq.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Zaidi met with Ross Perot, Chairman of the Board of the US company HKN, and his delegation in New York. HKN specializes in the exploration and development of oil and gas fields.

The Prime Minister urged the company to increase its efforts, speed up project timelines, and extend operational hours to meet its contractual obligations in Iraq, with a particular focus on boosting oil production.

He also emphasized the significance of the upcoming Baghdad Energy Conference as a platform for unveiling new exploration blocks, which represent substantial investment opportunities for major global companies. The government is committed to removing barriers and resolving any issues that could hinder project progress or the fulfillment of obligations.

The HKN delegation expressed
their readiness to enhance cooperation, extend working hours, and accelerate project implementation to ensure timely completion and adherence to objectives.
