Baghdad: Baghdad Health Directorate in Karkh announced the destruction of more than 5 tons of meat of unknown origin.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement by the Ministry of Health detailed that the Central Health Control Division of the Baghdad/Karkh Health Directorate, under the supervision of Dr. Rafid Naji Sawadi, conducted an inspection campaign that led to the seizure and destruction of the meat, which was intended for distribution without any information regarding its origin or production and expiration dates.

The statement further explained that legal actions were taken against the violators, and the meat was destroyed following health regulations, with the official destruction committee overseeing the process. Dr. Sawadi highlighted the potential health risks posed by the absence of identification data and urged citizens to report products with questionable validity.
