Baghdad Hosts Second Annual International Competition Conference


Baghdad: The Competition and Anti-Monopoly Council is set to hold the second annual International Competition Conference in Baghdad, under the patronage of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani. The event, organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, will take place next Thursday, October 23, at al-Rashid Hotel.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the conference serves as a platform for high-level dialogue aimed at enhancing a fair competition environment and fostering strategic partnerships between the public and private sectors. Key topics will include mechanisms for developing legislation and economic policies that align with regional and international developments.



The conference will feature broad participation from representatives of ministries, unions, and the private sector. Participants will also include Arab and regional competition bodies and authorities, as well as economic and media experts from international organizations. Notable organizations such as the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) will be represented, alongside other international institutions.
