Baghdad: The Mayor of Baghdad, Ammar Musa Kadhim, met with representatives from two notable French companies to discuss potential cooperation in the transportation, water, and sanitation sectors. The discussions aimed at developing a master plan for Baghdad to enhance the capital’s infrastructure and essential services.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Mayor Kadhim, as part of the delegation accompanying Prime Minister Ali Falih al-Zaidi on an official visit to France, engaged in talks with SYSTRA and SUEZ. These meetings were intended to explore opportunities for collaboration and leverage French expertise in priority areas for Baghdad’s development. Representatives from the Iraqi Embassy in Paris, including the assistant commercial attachE, also attended the discussions.

During the meeting with SYSTRA, a company specializing in transportation, the focus was on evaluating Baghdad’s current transportation system and identifying challenges. The discussions sought to explore ways to incorporate French expertise to enhance the transportation framework, aligning it with Baghdad’s urban development goals.
