Baghdad: The Baghdad Operations Command announced today the arrest of several wanted individuals, including one accused of human organ trafficking, alongside foreign nationals who breached the terms and regulations of the Residency and Nationality Department in the eastern part of the capital.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Command detailed that the security operations were executed with the aid of high-level intelligence. The operations aimed to pursue outlaws, dismantle organized crime gangs, and bring criminal elements to justice by executing judicial arrest warrants. The coordinated efforts of the 1st and 5th Federal Police Divisions, supported by intelligence agencies, resulted in the successful apprehension of suspects charged with various legal offenses. Among those arrested were an individual involved in human organ trafficking, foreign nationals violating residency regulations, and others accused of armed clashes and forgery. These arrests were made in the areas of Al-Habibiyah, Jamilah, Al-Sa’adah, Al-Baladiyat, Al-Fadhiliyah, and the Al-Ubaidi district, located east of the capital.
The statement further mentioned that the apprehended suspects have been handed over to the relevant authorities to proceed with the necessary legal actions against them.
