Baghdad Operations Command Arrests Terrorism Suspects and Document Forgery Gang


Baghdad: Baghdad Operations Command announced the arrest of a number of wanted persons, including two on charges of terrorism, and a gang for forging “official letters and documents” and seized “war remnants” on both sides of Karkh and Rusafa.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Command stated in a statement: ‘The security forces, with the support of the intelligence agencies and services, arrested a number of defendants under various legal articles, including two defendants under (Article 4/1 of Terrorism) after monitoring and following their movements within the area of responsibility. The operation also led to the arrest of a gang involved in forgery and fraud against citizens, which was carrying out forgery operations of ‘official books and documents.’ This gang consisted of five people. Additionally, others were apprehended for crimes related to premeditated murder, drugs, threats, forgery, and armed fights.



The statement further highlighted the seizure of war remnants from the failed ISIS terrorist gangs. These remnants were found within several areas including Yarmouk, Al-Hurriya, Al-Adwaniyah Control, Al-Doura, Abu Ghraib, Albu Aaitha, Complex 6, Al-Basatin neighborhood, Al-Shaab, Al-Bunuk, Al-Hamidiyah, and Ur neighborhood, covering both sides of Karkh and Al-Rusafa.
