Baghdad: The Baghdad Operations Command has announced the ongoing closure of commercial and industrial projects and shops in the capital that are not adhering to safety and security requirements.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the command issued a statement highlighting the importance of these actions in light of rising temperatures and the need to ensure the safety of citizens, as well as the protection of public and private property. Joint committees, with support from security forces within the Ministries of Defense and Interior, are conducting field visits to Civil Defense centers to evaluate their readiness and efficiency in performing their duties. These committees are also inspecting and auditing various projects, shops, and malls that fail to meet the standards set by the Civil Defense Directorate. As a result, several "furniture factories," facilities producing soft drinks, a "construction materials showroom," and "food stores" have been shut down for not complying with safety and prevention requirements across different areas of Baghdad.

The Operations Command has reiterated its recommendations to owners of warehouses, commercial stores, showrooms, and companies, urging adherence to the Civil Defense Directorate's instructions regarding safety and security procedures. This is to prevent potential fire hazards and avoid legal consequences for non-compliance.
