Baghdad: Baghdad Operations Command forces have successfully apprehended several individuals wanted for various criminal activities, including four individuals accused of “terrorism” and another accused of “premeditated murder”.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the arrests were part of ongoing security efforts aimed at enhancing stability and maintaining the security accomplishments achieved throughout the capital.
The Command revealed in a statement that the operations were carried out by formations from the 17th Infantry Division, the 2nd and 5th Federal Police Divisions, the Special Forces Brigade, and the Baghdad Karkh Police Command, with the support of affiliated intelligence agencies. The forces undertook search and inspection duties and established temporary “sudden” checkpoints to track down outlaws and those involved in criminal activities in various areas under their jurisdiction.
As a result of these operations, several individuals were arrested, including four accused under Article 4/1 of Terrorism, and others involved in offenses such as premeditated murder, possession of unlicensed weapons, and participation in armed quarrels. Additionally, unlicensed weapons and ammunition were confiscated in areas including Al-Haswa, Shafi 1/Mahmoudiya checkpoint, Sayyida Zeinab neighborhood, Taji Beach, Arab Jalub, Shuhada Al-Sayyidiya, Al-Uqaylat, Sabaa Al-Bour, Al-Maalef, and Al-Kufa neighborhood, located on both sides of Karkh and Rusafa.
