Baghdad Operations Command Launches Preemptive Security Operations in 22 Areas of Capital


Baghdad: Baghdad Operations Command forces began preemptive security operations in 22 areas of the capital.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Command stated in a statement that the forces commenced operations this morning to cordon off and search the areas of Al-Malahama, Al-Dheeb Dhari, Umm Najm, Al-Bu Asaf, Al-Abayji, Al-Qamishli, Al-Fahhama, Al-Bu Saifi, Al-Shaala, Al-Dawanem, Al-Ghazaliya, Suwaib, Al-Turath, Al-Diwan, Al-Buaitha, Al-Nahrawan, Al-Maamel, Al-Kamaliya, Al-Jaara, Al-Suraidat, Al-Habibiya Apartments, and Al-Muhandisin on the Karkh and Rusafa sides and around the capital.



The Command explained that the operations aim to pursue outlaws, execute judicial arrest warrants, and raid unlicensed weapons dens. These actions are being conducted through formations of the 6th and 17th Infantry Divisions, the 1st, 2nd, and 5th Federal Police, the Baghdad Police Commands (Karkh and Rusafa), and the Maghawir Brigade under the command, with support from the agencies and intelligence agencies attached to them.
