Baghdad Operations Command Launches Security Operation South and North of the Capital


Baghdad: The Baghdad Operations Command announced the launch of a security operation south and north of the capital to pursue outlaws in residential areas and raid unlicensed weapons dens.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Command stated in a statement that its forces began, this morning, cordoning off and searching the areas of Sabaa al-Bour, al-Mada’in, and al-Mahmoudiya on the Karkh and Rusafa sides. This operation is being conducted through formations of the 17th Infantry Division, “First and Second” Federal Police, with support from the Baghdad Police Commands of Karkh and Rusafa and their attached intelligence agencies.
