Baghdad: The Baghdad Operations Command announced the arrest of a drug trafficking gang and individuals involved in multiple crimes across various areas of the capital.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, units from the First and Second Divisions of the Federal Police and Baghdad Rusafa Police Command, supported by security and intelligence agencies, succeeded in apprehending several individuals wanted by the judiciary. Among those arrested was a three-member gang involved in drug trafficking and promotion. Authorities seized 650 grams of marijuana, 840 narcotic pills, and two pistols from the gang.
The statement further mentioned that additional arrests were made for crimes including premeditated murder, forgery, theft, and armed conflict. These arrests took place in areas such as Al-Hurriya, Al-Tubchi, Al-Amin Al-Thaniya, Al-Ubaidi, Al-Zafaraniya, Al-Buthila, Al-Nahrawan, and Al-Kamaliya, spanning both sides of Karkh and Rusafa. The accused and the seized materials have been handed over to the competent authorities to complete the legal procedures against them.
