Baghdad: A noticeable decrease in organized and criminal activity has been reported by the Baghdad Operations Command, marking the results of its extensive security operations conducted throughout the month of July.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Command revealed that, in alignment with its strategic plans to bolster security and enhance regional stability, comprehensive operations were executed by formations from the Ministries of Defense and Interior. These efforts, supported by affiliated intelligence agencies, led to a remarkable reduction in organized and criminal activities by executing judicial arrest warrants and apprehending numerous suspects under various legal articles.

The Command’s statement highlighted the confiscation of 662 different weapons and the registration of over 6,000 weapons under a program aimed at restricting weapon possession to state authorities. Furthermore, 65,079 vehicles and motorcycles were impounded for traffic regulation violations, with the necessary legal proceedings initiated against the violators. In a significant blow to drug-related crimes, several drug trafficking networks were dismantled, resulting in the arrest of their members and the seizure of narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Additionally, various types of unlicensed ammunition, materials, and equipment were confiscated, contributing to the overall success of the operations.
