Baghdad: The Baghdad Operations Command announced on Tuesday the results of its joint detachments’ operations during the period from July 7 to July 19, as part of proactive security measures coinciding with the plans drawn up to secure the Arba’een pilgrimage.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Command stated in a press release that the Baghdad Joint Operations Command detachments were able to arrest a number of individuals accused of trafficking and distributing narcotics, in addition to apprehending violators in possession of 512 SIM cards, 175 Mastercard cards, 5 passports, 11 vehicle registration plates, and 3 unauthorized drones.

It added that the security detachments also seized unlicensed weapons and ammunition, in addition to impounding a number of vehicles and motorcycles that violated traffic regulations.

The Command affirmed that these measures come to enhance security and stability, enforce the law, and maintain the security gains achieved throughout the capital, Baghdad.
