Baghdad’s Event Hosting Signals Stability and Government Success, Says PM

Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani emphasized that Baghdad hosting Arab and international events is a testament to the stability in the region and the success of the government's strategic plans. In a statement from his media office, it was revealed that al-Sudani chaired a dialogue session with the Strategic Center, attended by researchers, diplomats, and experts from various countries.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Sudani commenced the session by welcoming the participants whose visit aligns with the hosting of significant events in Baghdad. These events include meetings of Arab Ministers of Youth and Sports, the Baghdad International Fair, and the announcement of Baghdad as the Arab Tourism Capital 2025 and the Arab Sports Culture Capital. These events underscore the vibrancy of Baghdad and the effectiveness of the government's open policies, countering the often negative portrayals in some media outlets. Al-Sudani pointed out that many Arab and foreign delegations gain a refreshed perspective on Iraq after their visit.

Al-Sudani further remarked on the circumstances under which his government was formed, marked by some public hesitation in participating in elections and waning trust in the political system. The government program was designed to be actionable, aiming to bolster citizens' trust, with significant progress achieved in its implementation and objectives.

The statement also highlighted that the symposium addressed various topics, including sustaining Iraq's stability, achieving sustainable development, tackling poverty and unemployment, and discussing economic issues. Additionally, Iraq's regional and international relations and achievements in these areas were key points of discussion.
